The Colors of Albuquerque

I was recently hired by Hertz Rent A Car to photograph destinations in four cities for their “Never Lost” navigational system. It was an awesome experience to shoot this unique assignment and also a great opportunity for me to go back to one of the West's most unique cities; Albuquerque!

One of the most colorful surviving stretches of the fabled historic highway happens to be one of Albuquerque's main drags, Central Avenue. From college-cool Nob Hill, up near the University of New Mexico campus, to the decidedly untamed stretch at the western gateway to town, there's great neon (and great photo ops) in abundance.

Designed as a stylized Mayan pyramid, with interior elements modeled on Romanesque architecture, the National Hispanic Cultural Center has already won two architectural awards for interiors and lighting.

The Isleta Casino and Resort is a Pueblo establishment that features a luxurious hotel, a relaxing spa, a conference center and an outdoor amphitheater.

The Sandia Resort & Casino is another Pueblo resort featuring a casino, a hotel, a conference center, and an 18-hole golf course.

I always have a good time on unique shoots like these, and thanks to my newest client I hope to have many more!.
