Venice, The Floating City
October of '19 we were walking around Venice and it felt like a dream to us. The impossible blue of the canals, the fine mist that sometimes hangs over the city, the experience of turning a corner and seeing the Bridge of Sighs, or a gondola in port waiting on two lovers, all give Venice a “wait, is this real?” quality. We saw Renaissance masterpieces in dark, moody churches and walked in awe at the Galleria dell'Accademia which is filled with an expansive collection of Venetian art from the 14th to the 18th century by artists such as Bellini, Tintoretto and Veronese.
